Notes for Charles Palmer BARNUM

The Genealogical Record of the Barnum Family calls him Charles Palmer Barnum, while the Barbour Collection gives his middle name as Parmer. The Barnum Family, 1350-1907 calls him Charles Peck Barnum, perhaps confusing him with his half brother by that name. The latter source also adds that he was a newspaper editor in Poughkeepsie, and had one daughter, Clara.

Charles was listed in the 1811 tax list for Cuyahoga County, Ohio.
His death notice was published 16 Feb 1830 in the New York Post, which called him the editor and proprietor of the Poughkeepsie Telegraph and Observer.
