From The Times Record, Troy, New York, December 28, 1936: Barnum—at the residence on Glenwood Road, North Greenbush on December 27, 1936. Frederick W. Barnum, husband of Julia E. Doane, father of Wallace D. Barnum and Florence B. McQuide.
Funeral is private at the convenience of the family. Interment is in Elmwood Hill Cemetery.

From The Times Record, Troy, New York, Monday, December 28, 1936: Frederick W. Barnum, 86, treasurer and one of the founders of Barnum Brothers, electrical contractors, died last night at his home on the Glenwood Road, North Greenbush.
Mr. Barnum was injured two years ago when he fell while crossing the roadway at Broadway and Second Street. He spent many weeks in the hospital and never fully recovered from the effects of the accident, his family said. Up until that time Mr. Barnum had been at his office at 179 River Street every day. After his accident he never was able to go to his office again.
He was born at Black Rock but had spent most of his life in Troy. He is survived by his wife, formerly Miss Julia Doane; a daughter, Mrs. Florence B. McQuide, and a son, Wallace D. Barnum.
Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Elmwood Hill Cemetery.
