Notes for Esther Anna BARNUM


From The Journal Register, Medina, New York: Esther Barnum Hedley, 94, of Albion, NY, formerly of Lyndonville, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 1, 2014 at the Medina Memorial Hospital. Born on April 4, 1919 in the Town of Yates, NY, she was the daughter of the late Vernon and Edith (Brown) Barnum. On April 16, 1946, she married the late Charles D. Hedley and together they made their home in Lyndonville raising three children. During the apple season she would work at the Lyndonville Canning Co. and for the past 20 years she attended the Faith Alliance Church of Albion. In her spare time she enjoyed crocheting, canning and cooking and reading. Esther is survived by three children, Vanche Hedley of Albion, Carl Douglas Hedley of Punta Gorda, FL and Cynthia Hedley of Oswego, NY; seven grandchildren, Kristopher, Kelsey, Charles, Brendan, Martin, Kathryn Rose and Jordan; two great-grandchildren, Jack and Nora Rose; a brother, Weldon (Donna) Barnum of Medina; and several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by siblings, Vernon Barnum and Ruth Geiger. Relatives and friends may call on Saturday, April 5, 2014, from 12-2 PM at the Faith Alliance Church, 3305 Oak Orchard Rd., Albion, NY 14411, where a funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM with the Pastor, Rev. Gregg Marston officiating. Burial will be in the Lynhaven Cemetery in the spring.
