There is a picture of her mother in existence. It apparently is in the possession of Eloise Kennedy, granddaughter of Almonson Carl.

The 1899 Tioga County PA Directory for Wellsboro shows Barnum Grace B, dressmaker, bds Fellows ave and Barnum Julia, widow Abram, h Fellows ave.

The Tioga County Pennsylvania Directory, 1908 shows: Barnum, Julia, wid Abram O, 83 Fellows Ave.
From the Wellsboro Agitator, Wellsboro, Pennsylvania, Wednesday, August 12, 1908: Mrs. Julia E. Carl Barnum, aged 60 years died Saturday morning at her home on Fellows Avenue. She had been in apparently good health until 7 o’clock Friday evening when she suffered a stroke of apoplexy. Mrs. Barnum was born near Prattsville, Greene County, New York on August 4, 1848. On August 13, 1865 she was married to Mr. Abram Barnum at Parksville, N.Y. Mr. Barnum died at Carpenter, Lycoming County about 22 years ago and in April 1894 Mrs. Barnum and her children came to Wellsboro to reside. Eight children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Barnum — Merton, who died several years ago, aged 8; Laura, wife of Mr. Ralph Newell of Elmira; Dr. Harold L. Barnum, Mr. Jay Barnum and Dr. Raymond Barnum all of Sedalia, Missouri; Mr. Isaac Barnum of Berwick, Pa.; Grace wife of John Campbell; and Hattie wife of Frank Chapin both of Wellsbridge, Otsego County, New York. The remains were taken to Carpenter, Pa., for interment.
She was buried in Rutty Cemetery.
