Notes for Otis W. DURGA


He and his wife were 1st cousins.
From the Putnam County Courier, April 24, 1947: Funeral services for Otis W. Durga of West Street, New Milford, Connecticut were held at the Peelen and Planz Funeral home there on Sunday at two p. m. with Rev. Rolland G. Ewing, pastor of the First Congregational church, officiating. Mr. Durga died on Friday, April 18, 1947, after a brief illness at the New Milford hospital. He had been a patient there about a week.
Mr. Durga was born in Sherman, Connecticut on November 5, 1865, a son of James and Mary Smith Durga. He was married on November 5, 1890 to Minnie Barnum who died February 13, 1943. He lived for many years in Haviland Hollow moving from there to Sherman and then to New Milford. He is survived by an aunt and two cousins of Waterbury, Conn. and several nieces and nephews. Interment was in the Gerow cemetery in New Fairfield.
