From the Washington Post, 24 Jun 1984: Catherine Evatt (Kae) Kerwood, 77, a long-time resident of Washington, who was active in civic and charitable organizations, died of cancer June 21 at Sibley Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Kerwood, a resident of Washington since the 1930s, was born in Boston and graduated from Mount Vernon College in Washington. She was a former president of the Mount Vernon Alumnae Association and a former trustee of the college. She was a member of the Junior League, and did volunteer work on behalf of the Community Chest, the United Givers Fund, the Red Cross, the American Cancer Society and the Heart Association. She was a member of Saint Patrick's Episcopal Church and was a past trustee of the Washington Hospital Center. Her husband, Charles Wayne Kerwood, a retired Air Force Colonel, died in 1976. Surviviors include a sister, Marge Jacobs of Atlanta.
