Notes for Antoinette BARNUM

A page from the History of Dunn County, Wisconsin states: “In this neighborhood [Dunnville] in 1858, a schoolhouse was built of logs 16 x 24 with a seat around the walls with two rows of board desks and seat combined in the center. In the summer of 1858, Nettie Barnum taught the first term of school therein.” Note: Nettie would have been 15 years old.

According to the US Census of 1860, Antoinette Barnum was a “domestic” in the home of John C. & Jane MacDonald in Half Moon, Eau Claire County, Wisconsin.
A grave marker for Rosamond Thomson (1866-1942) sits to the left of Antoinette Ferris’ stone. The 1920 census report for Eau Claire County, WI, shows that she was a married and divorced daughter of Frank & Antoinette.  Nine-year-old Cynthia M. Ferris (1861-1870) is buried to the left of Rosamond. Was Cynthia also their daughter?
