Notes for William Tecumseh SHERMAN


From an unknown and undated contemporary newspaper, as posted to Find A Grave: Pvt US Army, World War I. William T Sherman, War I veteran and resident for 38 years of Silver City. Passed away the past week at the Fort Bayard Veterans hospital. He was a retired employee of the State Game & Fish Department. Survivors are his wife, three sons, Franklin, Las Cruces; Jack, Silver City; Roy, San Manuel AZ; daughter, Mrs Robert Ford Copperas, Groce Tx; nine grandchildren; sister, Mrs C A Lewis, Archer City Tx; and niece Mrs Gene Rosberry, Hurley. Funeral services were held at the Cox mortuary chapel followed by burial in the Fort Bayard cemetery with full military honors.
