Notes for Maude BARNUM

The 1920 US Census for Tacoma, Pierce County, Washington show Maude Barnum age 17, born in Washington State.

Descendant Diane Kienholz says that her mother's obituary list her as living in Seattle. She died just days after her 100 birthday celebration. She is buried in Mountain View Cemetery, Tacoma, WA. She died peacefully in her sleep. Her sister Dorothy is the last one left of her brothers and sisters. She was deeply religious and read from the scriptures regularly. She was still quite quick, even being 100 years old, loved life. She believed in an afterlife and being with her family again after she died. She was widow for a long time and then her sister-in-law Ruby tried to get Harold to go to Washington and meet with Maude. He did and she married her husband's brother Harold. They moved to Maryland and after 5 month got the marriage annulled.
