Notes for Ruth Alvord BARNUM


Ruth apparently traveled quite a bit while her parents were missionaries in Turkey. She appears in New York Passenger Lists as arriving there on 11 July 1924 from Cherbourg, France, with her parents and sisters; on 22 August 1932 from Le Havre, France with her mother and sisters; on 29 August 1934 from Genoa and Naples, Italy and on 21 August 1939 from Cherbourg, France. On the latter two voyages she traveled alone.

Mother of Judith Coburn Klein of Newton, Sarah Coburn Borgeson of Sherborn, Thomas B. Coburn of Canton, NY, Michael C. Coburn of Providence, RI and the late Cynthia Anne Coburn. Sister of Eleanor Barnum Gardner of Shelburne, VT. Also survived by 8 grandchildren and her great- grandson.
