Notes for Thomas KEELER

US Veterans Gravesites, ca.1775-2006 about Thomas Keeler. Name: Thomas Keeler; Service Info.: Pvt US Army Revolutionary War, War of 1812; Birth Date: 6 Apr 1762; Death Date: 5 Dec 1812; Cemetery: Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery; Cemetery Address: 200 Duell Road, Schuylerville, NY 12871-1721; Buried At: Section M1, Site 95.

Descendant Karen Brown notes that she has a lot of information on her line of Thomas Keeler, but is missing his marriage date and his wife's place of birth, etc. Her cousins on the Lewis Keeler side (Nathaniel and Thomas' brother) have little information on Lewis Keeler, who he married etc, except that he too was in the American Revolution. Thomas served the whole 8 years, was in the battle of Valley Forge and was with General Washington. Karen has been to Jonas and Abigail Keeler's farm in North Salem, New York. Abigail was Silas' wife and she later remarried to another Keeler. Her daughter was married to Jonas Keeler's son. They all lived on the Keeler dairy farm, a huge, peaceful place and Thomas, Nathaniel and Lewis were certainly all there at one time or another to visit their mother and sister.
Descendant Karen Keeler Brown has proof that Thomas Keeler died on Dec. 5, 1812. She also has his war records and information that his children were orphaned out after he died, as well as the date his widow remarried and to whom, along with the names of his children. The captain of his regiment (War of 1812) stated that he died in Moorstown, Clinton County, New York, of an unspecified illness.
He was buried in Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery Cemetery.
