From The Cortez Journal, July, 2000: Floyd John Barnum passed away at his home in Mancos, (Montezuma County) Colorado on July 17, 2000. Memorial services will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church in Cortez on July 29 at 9:30 a.m. Floyd was employed by Montgomery Ward in 1956, and retired in 1981, while serving as district manager in Baltimore, Md. He then joined Motel 6 as a vice president, and he and his wife retired to Mancos in 1991. Floyd was active in the community. He volunteered at the Cortez Welcome Center, was an honorary lifetime member of Cortez Rotary, and was a member of Southwest Hospital board of Directors. Floyd is survived by his wife, Nancy; sons and their families Scott (Meg) Barnum and grandson, Nicolas of Birmingham, Ala.; Craig (Debbie) Barnum and granddaughters Jennifer and Melinda of Baltimore; daughter Kristen (Randal) Black and grandchildren Mary Katherine and Nolan Tucker.
