Notes for Susan Barnum PUGSLEY


From the Putnam County Courier, Carmel, N.Y., Thursday, January 17, 1963: Mrs. Susan B. Taylor, widow of William O. Taylor of South Street, Patterson, died this Thursday morning January 17, 1963, at the Lovely Hills Nursing Home, Pawling, where she had been a patient three years. Her age was 90. The deceased was a daughter of Lewis G. and Josephine Barnum Pugsley and she was born in Patterson on Oct. 20, 1872. She was educated in local schools and on April 12, 1894 in Patterson she was united in marriage with William O. Taylor, who was engaged in the insurance business in Patterson, served the town several years as town clerk and was a trustee of the Putnam County Savings Bank. His death occurred in March 1947.
Mrs. Taylor was a member of the Patterson Presbyterian Church and since the death of her husband had been the owner of the W. O. Taylor Insurance business. Surviving are three brothers
Edgar A. Pugsley of Pawling, Lewis G. Pugsley, and Sterling Pugsley and one sister, Mrs.
Towner Kent all of Patterson. She also leaves three nieces, the Misses Margaret and Eloise Pugsley and Mrs. R. E. Ward, all of Patterson and a nephew, Kenneth Pugsley of Millbrook.
Interment will be made in the family plot in Patterson Baptist Cemetery at Towners.
