Notes for Frances H. BEARSE


From the Newark Star Ledger, New Jersey, January 11, 2007: Mrs. Frances (nee Bearse) Mehring, 88, of Denville died Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2007, at the Franciscan Oaks Health Center, following a brief illness.
The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated on Saturday, Jan. 13, at 9:30 a.m. at St. Catherine of Siena Church, Mountain Lakes, with the interment to follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Boonton. Born in La Grange, Ill., Mrs. Mehring lived in Denville since 1967. She was a licensed real estate agent with Rita B. Murphy Realty in Boonton for five years before retiring in 1961. Mrs. Mehring attended the Gulf Park school in Gulfport, Miss. A parishioner at St. Catherine of Siena Church, she was active for over 30 years as a volunteer with Saint Clare's Hospital Auxiliary in Denville and was a member of the Rockaway River Country Club, also in Denville, where she golfed until the age of 82. Her husband, Joseph W., died in 1980. She is survived by three sons, Joseph W. III of Mendon, N.Y., Peter H. of Annandale and Michael M. of Boonton Township; two daughters, Carol M. Dunn of Palm Desert, Calif., and Jody M. Parisi of Mountain Lakes; a brother, Loring R. Bearse of Benson, Ariz.; 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
