A One-Name Study for the BARNUM/BARNHAM Surname
From the Troy Daily Times, Troy, NY, Saturday, January 18, 1902: Mrs. Margaret A. Barnum, wife of Commodore Ashbell Barnum of the Shenandoah Yacht Club, died last evening at her home, 218 Hudson Avenue, after an illness of three days. Death was due to heart failure. The deceased had been a resident of Green Island for the last fourteen years and was well known and highly esteemed by a large circle of friends. Mrs. Barnum was thirty-eight years old, and is survived by her husband and two children and her mother, Mrs. Hannah Ewens; three brothers, John, Frank and James Ewens, of Vicksburg, Buffalo and Bennington, respectively. The funeral will be held from the late residence Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Rev. J. J. Henning, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church, will officiate. The interment will be in Mount Ida Cemetery.
