Notes for Charles T. BINGHAM


From the Union-News, Tuesday, June 29, 1999: Charles Tracy Bingham II, son of Charles Edward Bingham and Gertrude White Barnum. Charles T. Bingham, 81, of 4 Bromley Road, died Sunday at a Montgomery nursing home. He was a longtime salesman for Moore Drop Forge Co. (later Easco Corp.) in Springfield, Ma and retired in 1978. He was previously a buyer for American Bosch Corp. and also worked for Bingham & Co. of New York. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., he lived in Westfield, N.J., before moving to Huntington, MA in 1954. He attended schools in Westfield, N.J. and the Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, N.Y. studying Architecture. He was a World War II Navy veteran. He leaves his wife of 60 years, the former Priscilla Esther Barnes; two daughters, Diane Knowlton and Marilyn Cangro, both of Huntington; two brothers, Dr. Davis S. of Northampton and Edward F. of Thousand Oaks, Calif.; a sister, Elizabeth B. Bronson of Seattle, Wash.; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. There will be a private memorial service for the family. There are no calling hours and O'Brien Hilltown Community Funeral Home is in charge. Memorial contributions may be made to the Murrayfield Elementary School's Children's Library, 9 East Main St., Huntington, MA 01050.
