Notes for Fannie BARNUM
Maplecrest (Big Hollow) Cemetery, Town of Windham, Greene County, NY. Section 1. The Maplecrest Cemetery (formerly known as the Big Hollow Cemetery) is located along the west side of County Route 56, three-tenths of a mile from the intersection of County Routes 40 and 56, in the hamlet of Maplecrest, Town of Windham, Greene County, NY. The name of the hamlet was changed from Big Hollow to Maplecrest on May 23, 1921. Burials made prior to that date should be recorded in your genealogical records as having been made in the Big Hollow Cemetery, as that is what will appear on death certificates and in newspaper accounts. Burials made on or after that date should be recorded as taking place in the Maplecrest Cemetery.
