Notes for Alanson Levi BARNUM/Emily

Alanson and Emily Barnum were third cousins, once removed; their
common ancestor was Thomas Barnum (1663-1731). The 'Genealogical
Record of the Barnum Family' gives Lafayetteville, New York as the
town where they were married, but I've been unable to find a town by
that name. There are however, towns named both La Fayette and
Fayetteville within a few miles of Jamestown, New York, where they
settled after their marriage.
