Benjamin Barnum, in his will of January 9, 1779, probated on February 17, mentioned his wife Sarah and children, among whom were his youngest son Abijah Barnum and grandson of the same name. From other records it is seen that Benjamin Barnum was married to Ann Forward and had children with her before he married Sarah Hoyt, widow of Samuel Knapp, Jr.
