Notes for Priscilla RICE

The Barnum Family, 1517-1904 calls her Prucilla. The Probate Records of Taunton, Massachusetts for 24 Sep, 1776 show an award of guardianship of the minor children George, Caleb, Thomas, Anne, Mary, Deborah and Priscilla Barnum to their mother, Priscilla (Rice) Barnum. Priscilla's husband and the father of the children, Caleb Barnum, had died the previous February.

Priscilla was a sister of Colonel Nathan Rice, formerly of Hingham, afterward of Burlington, Vermont, an aide-de-camp to General Lincoln during his Southern Campaign.
