Notes for Solomon BARNUM

The Barnum Family, 1517-1904 mistakenly shows him as a son of Thomas Barnum (born 1735).

According to the History of the town of Shoreham, Vermont: from the date of its charter, October 8th, 1761, to the present time, "Solomon Barnum, from Lanesboro, Mass., settled a little north of the farm on which Deacon Stephen Barnum lived, about 1789, and died some years since in Elizabethtown, N. Y."

The US Census of 1790 shows Solomon Barnum, with three free white females, living in Shoreham, Addison County, Vermont.
