Notes for Charles Peck BARNUM


Charles Peck Barnum may be identical with Charles Palmer Barnum, shown here as his brother. 'The Barnum Family, 1517-1904' says he was a newspaper editor in Poughkeepsie. An obituary in the Albany (New York) Argus, 16 Feb 1830, states: "Died at Beam's Tavern, eleven miles south of this city, on Thursday (11th) Charles P. Barnum, Editor and Proprietor of the Poughkeepsie Telegraph and Observer."
Charles Peck Barnum died at Beam's Tavern, located about 11 miles south of Albany, New York.
