The Barnum Family mistakenly uses the name Geralph Barnum.
From the Courier and Freeman, Potsdam, New York, Wednesday, February 9, 1910: The death of one of Potsdam’s oldest residents, Mrs. Seraph Lester, occurred at her home on Broad Street Saturday of old age. Seraph Barnum was born in Shoreham, Vermont 90 years ago, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Medad Barnum. After coming to Potsdam she was united in marriage with Mr. Martin Lester who died many years ago. Two sons were born to them, George who is now living in the West, and Charles, who died two years ago. Mrs. Lester early united with the Presbyterian Church here, and was its oldest member. Funeral services will be held at the home at half past three o'clock this afternoon.
