Notes for Mary E. POTTS

Obituary published January 1930: Mary was born near Bethel, New York, Sept. 4, 1845, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Potts. She was one of a family of seven children, all of whom except one sister, Mrs. Jeanette Couch of Dumont, N. J., having preceded her in death. On Dec. 19, 1883 she was married to Abel Barnum. He died March 5, 1910. They had one son, Abel A., who, with two grandsons, Rex and Ben, survive her. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church. She was stricken with paralysis on Jan. 9 and died Jan. 19, being 84 years, 4 months and 15 days of age. Funeral from the son's home Jan. 21. Burial, Albion Cemetery.
