Notes for Emma Amelia HOTCHKISS


Although the US Census of 1850 shows her birthplace as New York, Emma's burial record states that she was a native of Connecticut.
According to the original Westwood burial register, Emma, a native of Connecticut and resident of Oberlin, was the ninth person buried in the then-new cemetery, having died of apoplexy at the age of 65 years, 9 months, 12 days.
