From the Daily Leader, Pontiac, Illinois, March 28, 1973: Dr. Lyle R. Barnum, 70, of Barrington, formerly of Dwight, died at his home Tuesday morning. He was an osteopathic physician and surgeon practicing in Dwight until 1935. Graveside rites will be at 1 PM at Oak Lawn Cemetery here. He was born May 26, 1902 in Dwight, Illinois, a son of Floyd and Mabel Reeder Barnum. He married Charlotte Thorpe. Surviving are his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Bonita Lockwood, Crystal Lake; a son, Floyd, Baltimore; seven grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Vera Thomas, Washington, Illinois; Mrs. Grayce Greiner, Minocqua, Wisconsin.
