The surname of his wife and daughters was shown as Duryee in the 1860 census for Lee County, Iowa. So far, research has not determined which is the correct spelling.
William was found living with the Barnum family in the 1850 census; his occupation was listed as doctor. He had apparently died by the time of the 1860 census.
