Arms: Quarterly: 1 & 4, Sable, a hind passant between three bells argetn; 2 & 3, Sable, a cross engrailed between four crescents argent [Barnham]. Crest: On a mount vert a hind lodged argent between four arows stuck in the mount or. Walter Dobell of Streat co. Sussex, Ar. Bapt. at Southover 20 Sept. 1583; bur. there 28 May 1640. m. Elizabeth [da. of Stephen Barnham, sister & heir of Martin Barnham of Bergham. Ar. 1st wife. Mar. at Horsham 21 Jan. 1604-5. Son Walter Dobell of Streat co. Sussex, Ar. Bapt. at All Saints', Lewes, 26 Feb. 1608-9. Died 5 June 1661. Will (P.C.C. 140, Laud) pr. 1661. m. Anne dau. of Will Thomas of Lewis. Bur. at Streat 7 March 1665-6.
