From the Albuquerque Journal, Sunday, March 30, 2008: Bert Barnum, 87, long time resident of Albuquerque, born in Raton NM, died Thursday, March 27, 2008. He is survived by his sons, John Barnum and wife, Debbie, Dennis Barnum, and Larry Barnum; two granddaughters, Dennisha Longoria and Tami Krebbs; eight great grandchildren; four sisters, Ella Gallegos and husband, Elias of Washington, Viola Rodriguez and husband, Joe of Jemez, Edna Parong of California, Audrey Barnum of Albuquerque; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Barnum was preceded in death by his son, Paul and wife, Oranell. As a proud Veteran of WWII he served in the Navy. Friends may visit French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel, Monday, 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Graveside services will be held Tuesday, April 1, 2008, 11:00 a.m., at Sandia Memory Gardens, 9500 San Pedro Dr. NE. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the VFW, 2011 Girard Blvd. SE, Albuquerque, NM 87106. French Mortuary 1111 University Blvd. NE. (505) 843-6333.
