Notes for George F. R. BAKER
A teacher, George had a Select School in Monticello in the Masonic Lodge in 1839. His brother-in-law, William Henry Burnham, used the same location for his Monticello Village School in 1841.
There is an advertisement in the Republican Watchman by a Dr. George R. Baker (physician) in Liberty, Sullivan County, New York in June 1845 but this may be another person. His biography is in the History of Sullivan County, Town of Callicoon. He was separated from his wife and had a dental practice in New York City. He was the only son of a small family from Thompson.
