Notes for Patience BARNUM

According to a deed filed in Russia Township, Lorain County, Ohio, Asa Boland and his wife Patience sold lot 36 in Russia Township on 15 Dec 1836. The lot was probably located in the town of Oberlin, since that's where they lived. That information would make Patience the daughter of Joshua Barnum. Asa Boland was listed as a head of household in the 1840 census for Russia Township, with a wife and 2 children. On March 30, 1843 Mr. A. H. Boland of Oberlin married Miss Betsy Loveland of Brighton, Ohio at Oberlin. President Mahan of Oberlin Collegiate Institute officiated. The marriage was announced April 12, 1843 in Volume 5, pg 62 of the Oberlin Evangelist. All this would make the death date of Patience between late 1840 and early 1843.
