He was born to Don Thomas Emett and Rhoda Tait Barnum, the second 12 children. He married Pearl Leavitt 10 Aug 1926. They had 5 children. Pearl died of cancer in 1955. Don married (2nd) Ann Julia Kodik, who died in 1998.
