An article in the Vermont Sentinel of 25 March 1813 states, in part: "Died at Hinesburgh, within a few weeks past, ...Mrs. Barnam, wife of Capt. Dan Barnum. Mrs. Miles wife of Mr. John Miles. Mr. Daniel Barnum, aged 20..." It appears that the article refers to Elizabeth and her son Daniel, Jr.
