From the Windham Journal, New York, Thursday, May 2, 2002, page B3: Maplecrest, NY- Leland Barnum, 79, of Maplecrest, died Thursday, April 25, 2002. Born Dec. 15, 1922 in Maplecrest, he was the son of the [late] William D. and Gertrude (Schupp) Barnum. Mr. Barnum lived on Long Island for many years before returning to the Windham area. He was a carpenter for most of his life. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Army. Survivors include three sons, William of Hensonville; Leland Patrick of Lake Tahoe, Nev.; and Christopher of Saratoga County; and a half-brother, Kenneth Rhodes of Windham. Mr. Leland Barnum is predeceased by a half-brother, Robert Rhodes.
