Notes for Blanche E. GARRARD

In the 1910 US Census for Brooklyn, Kings, New York Blanche was enumerated together with her son, Phineas S. Barnum, age 5 and was shown as divorced. In the same census for the same place her ex-husband, Harry G. Barnum, was enumerated together with his new wife, Annie, and a son Harry J. Barnum, age 3. Harry G. and Annie did not have another child until 1919, suggesting the possibility that Harry J. Barnum might have been a child of the marriage between Harry G. Barnum and Blanche, who remained with his father following the divorce.
