From the Star Tribune, Minneapolis, Minnesota, November 11, 2010: Barnum, John Francis (Jack) Beloved husband, father, grandfather, age 90, of Excelsior, passed away on November 10, 2010. Preceded in death by wife, Shirley; parents, Clarence and Marie; sister, Helen; and son, John. Survived by son, Greg and Marcia; daughter-in-law, Peggy; grandchildren, Anne, Marie, Melissa, Pat, Tony, Zach and Shelby; great-granddaughter, Jada. Jack is a long-time member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church of Excelsior. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, owned and operated Our Own Hardware Store of Chaska, and volunteer. Mass of Christian Burial, November 12th, 2010 at 2 pm, St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 680 Mill Street, Excelsior. Visitation is one hour prior to Mass at church. Private is in interment at Resurrection Cemetery, Shorewood, Minnesota.
