Notes for Harold Edward BARNUM


From The Bridgeport Telegram, Bridgeport, Connecticut, August 17, 1970: Services for Harold E. Barnum, 79, of 104 Kennedy Drive, a retired telegraph and teletype repair man for Western Union, who died Saturday in the Van Doren convalescent hospital, Fairfield, will take place Tuesday at 9:15 a.m. in the Dennis and D'Arcy funeral home, 1046 Fairfield avenue, and at 10 o'clock in the Trinity Parish of St. Michael's Episcopal church, Tunxis Hill road, Fairfield, with the Rev. George E. Porter, rector, officiating. Burial will be in Lakeview cemetery. Born in Bridgeport, Mr. Barnum lived here all his life. He was employed by Western Union more than 40 years before his retirement in 1961. He was a member of Corinthian Lodge 104, A.F. & A.M. and member and past patron of Orient chapter 1, O.E.S. Survivors are two sons, Leroy Barnum of Ridgefield and Ronald E. Barnum of Trumbull; a sister, Mrs. Leila B. Lyon of Bridgeport; five grandchildren; and two nephews.
