Notes for Monroe Augustus MINTON
Obituary from the Palatka Times-Herald, 26 Aug 1938: Funeral services for Monroe A. Minton, 60, who died in a St. Augustine hospital Tuesday after a brief illness, were held this morning at 10 a.m. from the First Baptist Church. The service was conducted by Rev. B. A. Roth of that church. Interment was made in the Hastings Cemetery.
The deceased was a prominent potato planter of this section. He was born at Harlem in the old Minton settlement in 1878 and moved to the Hastings area in 1902.
He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Ada Minton; one son, W. J. Minton; one daughter, Mrs. D. P. Barnum, all of Hastings; one sister, Mrs. Sue Miller of Titusville; five brothers, Will H., of Palatka; John of Fort Lauderdale, Jim of Tampa, Aaron of Hampton, and Sherman of Hastings.
