From the Register Guard, Eugene, Oregon, June 7, 2006: Dennis Barnum of Portland, formerly of Eugene, died May 9 at age 74. The family chose not to list the cause of death. No service is planned. He was born June 30, 1931, in Portland to Mayson and Myrtle Hugill Barnum. He was a chemistry professor at Portland State University. Survivors include his wife, Carol; a daughter, Susan Nemzek of Kennewick, Wash.; a son, Michael of Missouri; two sisters, Mary Dodson of Pleasant Hill and Sally Zehrung of Eugene; and two grandchildren. His former wife, Vernice Alford, died previously. Arrangements by Oregon Cremation Service in Portland.
